Cameron Diaz Made Me Do It, Cannibal Cop Claims
The accused NYPD cannibal cop suggests, through his lawyer, that actress Cameron Diaz is apparently the motivating force in his obsessions.
As The Inquisitr previously reported, police officer Gilberto Valle entered a plea of not guilty to charges he allegedly plotted to kidnap, torture, cook, and eat at least 100 women whose personal information he pulled from a law enforcement database.
Valles lawyer claims that the patrolmans issues originated with the movie The Mask, according to the New York Daily News:
A bondage scene featuring Cameron Diaz drove Cannibal Cop Gilberto Valle into such a frenzy that he spent the rest of his life being aroused by thoughts of abducting and tying up women, his lawyer said.
Valles fascination with S&M which allegedly grew into a twisted plot to kidnap women and slow cook them began by seeing Diazs 1994 flick The Mask as a 10-year-old, his lawyer said.
The suspects kinky awakenings appears to have originated with a scene in the move in which Cameron Diaz pretends to be abducted and bound, defense attorney Julia Gatto wrote in a letter to Manhattan Federal Court Judge Paul Gardephe.
Valle made this revelation to a psychiatrist who is apparently prepared to testify in court that the officer never really meant to put his plan into motion. The Mask, which starred Jim Carrey, was Cameron Diazs feature-film debut.
The officer was suspended from the force after his arrest.
Are you buying the claim that the Cameron Diaz role in The Mask drove the officer to bondage fantasies?
