Cameron Diazs Bad Teacher Gets A CBS Series From The Office Makers
If you liked Bad Teacher the movie, then youll probably like Bad Teacher the TV series on CBS, so long as you dont mind that Cameron Diaz, Jason Segal, and Justin Timberlake wont be in it.
Though it might seem strange to adapt an underrated cult film for TV after the original property only proved moderately successful, may we remind you that it has been done before with great success (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Then again, it has also been attempted and completely failed as well (10 Things I Hate About You) so I suppose were back where we started.
Still, Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg will soon be looking for another project when The Office closes its doors after this season, and Perez Hilton reports that Bad Teacher is a concept that theyre both fond of and see TV potential in. The two actually wrote the screenplay for the film, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, their involvement in the show will likely be more focused on the executive producer end of things.
Community writer Hilary Winston has been brought on to draft a TV pilot, and so far, public reception to the idea hasnt been what youd call favorable.
But Winston has reassured us that the concept for a CBS version ofBad Teacher will be different from what we saw in the movie.
What do you think? Would you watch a TV series based on Bad Teacher?
