The Oscars are one of the biggest nights for Hollywood's glitterati. We love watching our favourite stars glamming up for their moment on the red carpet as well as the hilarious, tearful and some times downright bizarre acceptance speeches that follow a big win. In anticipation of the 84th Annual Academy Awards taking place at the Kodak Theatre this Sunday, not only have we trawled through the best and worst frocks in recent years, here are Grazia Daily's most memorable Oscar moments...
'Shakespeare In Love' beat out stiff competition from 'Saving Private Ryan' to win 7 awards in 1999. But most memorable of all that night was Gwyneth Paltrow's speech when she accepted the Oscar for Best Actress. Her teary tribute to lost and loved ones lasted a whopping 3 minutes leaving barely a dry, or should that be open eye in the house. Click here to relive that epic moment.
Not just content with winning Best Actor for his role in 'The Pianist', Adrien Brody planted this smacker on presenter Halle Berry as he accepted his award in 2003. Well, you would, wouldn'tyou?!
Winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2007 for her role in 'Dreamgirls' catapulted Jennifer Hudson from talent show runner-up to international superstar. The world, and us, revelled in her moment.
And last but by no means least, 2007 also sawMartin Scorsese FINALLY take home the gong for Best Director for 'The Departed'. The fact that he'd lost out in this category 5 times before is still a sore point amongst movie buffs but his efforts were at last rewarded.
